OHIO shares reminder of available campus, community health care resources
As we progress into the semester amid the reality of cold and flu season, Ohio University would like to remind everyone of the campus and local resources that are available to help keep our community healthy.

Campus Health Care Resources
OhioHealth Campus Care provides a wide range of health services tailored to the specific needs of Ohio University students, including urgent care and primary care support. Campus Care is open
Those in need of assistance with minor illnesses or injuries, including those experiencing cold or flu symptoms, are encouraged to skip the waiting room by scheduling a virtual health visit.
Students may also consider scheduling a telehealth visit through their hometown medical provider.
Community Health Care Resources
Ohio University regularly collaborates with external health providers to help ensure students have access to timely medical care.
- Holzer in Athens County is available to provide quick and urgent care medical services across multiple locations in Athens.
- Uptown Clinic (5 North Court St, 740-589-7752) – no appointment necessary
- The Clinic at Walmart (929 East State St, 740-593-3594) – no appointment necessary
- Holzer Athens (2131 East State St, 740-589-3100) – urgent care and appointments available
- OhioHealth Urgent Care – Walk-in and telehealth services are available.
- Urgent Care Athens (265 W. Union St, 740-594-2456) – please call ahead to save your place in line
- Urgent Care Nelsonville (11 John Lloyd Evans Memorial Drive, Nelsonville, OH, 740-753-7342) – please call ahead to save your place in line
- Marietta Memorial (206 Columbus Rd, Athens, OH, (740-374-1400) is available to provide emergency services, specialty care and women’s services at their Athens location.
Regional Higher Ed and OHIO Online Health Resources
Ohio University Regional Higher Education and OHIO Online students have free, 24/7 access to TimelyCare, a virtual health and well-being platform designed for college students.
Regional Higher Education and OHIO Online students can access TimelyCare services 365 days a year through its mobile app or desktop with their OHIO email address, and insurance is not needed.
