OHIO Testing Services resumes modified operations for spring 2021 semester

OHIO Testing Services, located at Bromley Hall, is scheduled to resume operations on Jan. 19, 2021 to support spring semester examinations on the Athens campus. 

After President Nellis’ announcement regarding OHIO’s spring semester strategy, OHIO Testing Services has decided to reopen with modifications to capacity and safety protocols to comply with the Presidential Health Directives and OHIO’s interim policy 44.102.

OHIO’s online proctoring software, Proctortrack, will continue to be available for students during spring semester at no fee, to support those who cannot return on campus at this time. 

What this means for OHIO faculty and students:

1. All safety measures outlined in the Presidential Health Directives and OHIO’s interim policy 44.102 will be enforced.
2. No walk-in testing will be allowed. All student examinations will need to be scheduled at least 24-hours prior to the exam, as per on-campus proctoring instructions.
3. Seating capacity is limited to 50%, approximately 25 students at a time. Due to safety precautions, processing of student testing will take longer, limiting the Testing Services’ overall capacity to 50%. 
4. On premise waiting is allowed for a limited number of test takers on a first-come, first-served basis with priority to those with accessibility accommodation needs.
5. Accommodated proctoring for students with a registered accessibility accommodation will be provided by OHIO Testing Services. 
6. All course evaluations have moved online. Paper-based course evaluation processing is no longer available. 

OHIO Testing Services monitors the University’s plans closely and aligns its strategy accordingly. If the University changes course during spring semester as a response to the global pandemic, OHIO Testing Services operations may shift as well.
