About the Environmental Studies Program
Founded in 1970 as an interdisciplinary graduate program, the Voinovich School’s Environmental Studies Program follows a learning-by-doing model of research and applied experience on a range of cross-cutting environmental and energy issues. The program offers a broader academic experience than a traditional course of study can provide. It gives students the flexibility to pursue coursework and research spanning numerous disciplines.
Graduate students can earn a Master’s of Science in Environmental Studies or a Graduate Environmental Sustainability Certificate. Undergraduates are enrolled in our Environmental Studies Certificate or the Honors Tutorial Program. Working with faculty and staff from within the school and across campus, students learn through in-depth academic research and training, hands-on project experiences with public and private profit and nonprofit sector partners.
