University College provides a transformative experience for students, staff, and faculty. University College is comprised of an academic department and university-wide support services. The Graduate Assistantships below are situated within the university-wide functions.

University College graduate assistantships are on-campus positions that can supplement your classroom experience with practice. The graduate assistantship application process and the academic admissions process are separate but in some cases concurrent processes.

How to Apply for Graduate Assistantships

  • All University College graduate assistantships can be found on the Ohio University Jobs Page (https://www.ohiouniversityjobs.com) on the “Student Jobs” page.
  • Priority Deadline for Applications is January 1, but applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled or through March 1
  • Applications may require a resume, cover letter, list of three references, and personal statement. We ask applicants to share their personal statement so we can learn more about you as an applicant.
  • Compensation (Generally): New Graduate Assistants in University College start at $13,500 for a 20-hour a week Graduate Assistantship. We have partnerships with some colleges that in some cases can provide a partial or full tuition waiver. University College has partnerships with several colleges across campus.
  • Please see specific position details for more information about roles and hourly commitment.
  • NOTE: In some cases, preference will be given to Patton College of Education students.
