Petitions for Reinstatement
- Petitions must be submitted by August 1 for fall semester consideration or by January 2 for spring semester consideration.
- Petitions received late will be held for review the following academic term.
- Submitting a Petition for Reinstatement or readmission is not a guarantee of reinstatement to Ohio University.
- The Petition should be complete, reflect an honest assessment of your strengths and challenges, and be completed with care and deliberation.
- All University College students may submit a petition for reinstatement or immediate reinstatement, or request readmission, by completing the form listed below.
PLEASE NOTE: This Petition for Reinstatement to Ohio University addresses only the possibility of reinstatement to the university and not the status of your financial aid. It is possible that your financial aid may be suspended even if you are reinstated to the university. You are strongly advised to contact the Office of Student Financial Aid to determine your eligibility for financial aid.
Petition for Immediate Reinstatement
Students applying to return to Ohio University immediately after dismissal (without an absence of one academic term, excluding summer)
Petition for Reinstatement
Students applying to return to Ohio University after an absence of one or more academic terms (but less than four years)
Request for Readmission
Students applying to return to Ohio University after an absence of four or more years
