The study of issues and problems in intercollegiate athletics - a previous taboo within the NCAA - is a relatively new area of research that aligns with preserving the integrity in modern day sports administration. Dr. David Ridpath is at the forefront of this movement.

As an expert in intercollegiate athletics administration, governance, rules and compliance, Ridpath examines issues including student athlete academic achievement, academic fraud, graduation rates and the like. Serving as a consultant and expert witness in prominent cases regarding these issues, Ridpath is frequently called upon for advice and his expertise in this area. In 2004, he spoke before the House Subcommittee on the Constitution in Washington, D.C. during a hearing on "Due Process in the NCAA."

The Sports Administration program at Ohio University is the first of its kind in the country and still remains among the top programs. Ridpath's journey began here; he attained his masters degree in Sports Administration and Faculty Management from Ohio University in 1995.

Ridpath is an exceptional resource with over 10 years experience in the field of sports administration and first-hand experience with issues of ethics violations within the NCAA legislative, enforcement and governance process. He uses his experience and research to enlighten students and further educate the public about foreseen problems within the NCAA rule and compliance processes, infractions and enforcement.
