Nicole Finnicum is the Assistant Director of Experiential Design for the College of Arts and Sciences in the Center for Advising, Career and Experiential Learning. She specializes in helping connect undergraduates to community engagement and study away opportunities. 
As a plant biology undergraduate at Ohio University (’10), Nicole participated in study away experiences to Malaysia and the Bahamas which sparked her interest in environmental and experiential education. Nicole continued her journey at OU as a graduate student in environmental studies (‘12) and conducted her thesis research in Edinburgh, Scotland. Soon after graduating, she moved to Southwest Florida where she spent eight years on Sanibel Island teaching, developing programs, and managing a small nonprofit helping to foster an appreciation and connection to the marine ecosystem. Nicole held several leadership positions there, including Director of the department, and recently completed a master's degree in Nonprofit Management from the University of Central Florida (’20).

Nicole is originally from central Ohio, but grew up hiking the foothills of Appalachia. She is an avid fitness enthusiast and resides in Athens with her hound dogs and husband Michael
