with special guests Mercy Bell & Maria Carrelli

American(a) Woman is an evening filled with incredible & diverse music from within the vast Americana genre. Americana music (like many other genres) has been publicly dominated by male artists, but we believe that focus needs adjusted. So on Saturday, April 11th, we invite you to join us for this special Adyn’s Dream fundraiser that focuses on the incredible female musicians in the Americana music scene. Our featured headliner, Front Country, lead by the powerful vocals of Melody Walker, have been described as a
“blend everything from high-lonesome mountain music to new-wave power pop, newgrass picking, oldgrass harmonies, and just plain glorious musicality. This is Americana at its best: music with deep roots and wide-ranging vision” (Popatunes). Also performing is the incredibly talented Mercy Bell. “Once in a very long while you come across an artist that encompasses an entire era within the chords of their melodies or the dulcet tone of their voice. Brooklyn based folk musician Mercy Bell induces such an experience for music aficionados of all musical persuasions. Her voice is rich, clear, and pure. Put on any of Mercy Bell’s songs and you are immediately transported to a better place.” (The New York Folk Arts Examiner) Opening this great night of music is Maria Carrelli from Cincinnati, Ohio. "Hailing from Ludlow, Kentucky, Carrelli draws strongly from Appalachian bluegrass and traditional country music, transitioning between upbeat tempos and melody-driven ballads on her debut solo record. Having already traveled extensively with multiple folk and bluegrass groups, her musicianship and songwriting ability act as strong complements to her unique lyrical style.” These women are all incredibly talented, and will all be coming together on April 11th for a special night of music for a great cause!

American(a) Woman is a fundraiser for the local nonprofit, Adyn’s Dream. Adyn’s Dream was founded 6 years ago by a 10 year old girl to raise money to help others born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy - a terminal genetic disease that takes the lives of too many children & young adults (the most common genetic killer of children under the age of 2). Adyn’s Dream is 100% volunteer operated, so every dollar of profit from these ticket sales goes directly to our mission to help children, teens and adults living with SMA.
