Anna Rimanelli appointed scholarly impact librarian
Ohio University Libraries is pleased to announce the appointment of Anna Rimanelli to the position of scholarly impact librarian, effective Nov. 9, 2026.
As part of the Ohio University Libraries’ Research Services Department, Rimanelli will help researchers analyze and articulate their scholarly research impact and will assist in the promotion of scholarly output from across the University. She will build relationships with campus partners to provide support throughout the research life cycle, including guidance on open access publishing models.
In addition, Rimanelli will serve as a subject specialist, providing instruction, reference and consultation services to faculty and students while cooperatively building sustainable collections to meet the University’s research and instructional needs.
Rimanelli most recently served as a patient services representative at the University of Michigan, where she provided individualized consultations and support to a diverse community while managing confidential records, maintaining complex information systems, generating operational reports and coordinating high-volume workflows.
Rimanelli developed a strong foundation in research support, scholarly communication, information literacy, and user-centered instruction through her project work as a graduate student at the University of Illinois. During that time, she also strengthened her understanding of the research lifecycle and the importance of scholarly engagement as the sole author of a peer-reviewed article published in an official journal of the American Library Association.
Rimanelli earned a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in History from Grand Valley State University.
