Celebrating a legacy of connection: Retirement reception for Professor Christopher Thompson
After decades of dedicated service, outstanding teaching and global bridge-building, Professor Christopher Thompson of the Department of Linguistics in the College of Arts and Sciences retired at the end of the spring semester.
Throughout his distinguished career, Thompson made profound contributions to the College of Arts and Sciences and the broader OHIO community. He is particularly celebrated for his transformative leadership in strengthening OHIO’s global footprint—most notably through his work deepening the University’s historic partnership with Chubu University in Japan. He also helped to cultivate meaningful ties with other Japanese universities, local governments and regional communities.
All members of the OHIO community are invited to retirement reception for Thompson on Wednesday, Sept. 2, from 6-8 p.m. in the 1804 Lounge in the Baker University Center.
