Ohio University’s Under the Elms concert series returns for Summer 2026
Community members are invited to enjoy another season of music, tradition and summer gatherings as Ohio University’s annual Under the Elms Concert Series returns beginning June 11.
The popular outdoor concert series will feature four Thursday evening performances on the College Green outside Memorial Auditorium, bringing together University musicians, guest artists and community members for evenings of live music under the shade of the historic elms.
Led by Ohio University Director of Bands Will Talley, this year’s series will offer a diverse lineup of musical selections, ranging from concert band classics to Broadway favorites and memorable film scores. The concerts will also feature a number of guest conductors throughout the summer.
Among this year’s featured performers is returning vocalist and OHIO student Emaline Duquette. The series will also welcome new guest soloists, including Rebecca Geddie, a trumpeter from the School of Music.
The 2026 season will conclude on July 2 with a patriotic celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. The finale will feature the return of guest conductor Rod Miller in his acclaimed portrayal of John Philip Sousa, bringing history and music together in a performance designed to honor the nation’s milestone anniversary.
The Under the Elms Concert Series has long served as a summer tradition for the Athens community, providing free outdoor performances that bring together students, faculty, alumni and local residents. Organizers encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs or blankets, pack a picnic and enjoy an evening of music with family and friends on OHIO’s College Green.
