OHIO mourns the passing of Judge William T. Newman Jr.

Ohio University mourns the passing of Judge William T. Newman Jr., an Emeritus Trustee of The Ohio University Foundation Board.

Judge Newman, who earned his fine arts degree from Ohio University in 1972 before pursuing a career in law, passed away in February. A highly- respected judge and a recipient of Ohio University’s Medal of Merit in 2022, Judge Newman served as OHIO’s Spring Commencement Speaker in 2024.
