G. Jason Jolley named Associate Vice President for Research Partnerships and Innovation
Ohio University’s Office of the Vice President for Research and Creative Activity has named Dr. G. Jason Jolley as Associate Vice President for Research Partnerships and Innovation.
In this role, Jolley will collaborate with other University leaders to provide visionary and strategic leadership of OHIO’s innovation, economic development, corporate research, and technology commercialization activities. The Innovation Center and the Technology Transfer Office both report to Jolley.
Jolley joined Ohio University in 2013 as a faculty member in the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service, where he has held several leadership roles. These include serving as faculty director of the Center for Economic Development and Community Resilience and associate dean for public strategy and innovation. For the past two years, Jolley has spent part of his time supporting the Division of Research and Creative Activity in developing and managing research partnerships.

Jolley holds a Ph.D. in public administration from North Carolina State University, an M.A. in political science from the University of Tennessee, and a B.A. in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Before joining Ohio University, Jolley spent seven years at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he served as senior research director in the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise’s Center for Competitive Economies and held an adjunct assistant professor appointment in the Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Prior to his academic career, Jolley worked as a professional economic developer.
Throughout his career, Jolley has served as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on nearly $12 million in sponsored research funded by organizations including the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Economic Development Administration, and the Appalachian Regional Commission.
