Ohio University’s Online MBA in Artificial Intelligence ranked 11th nationally

Ohio University’s Online Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Artificial Intelligence has been ranked 11th in the nation in the 2026 Best Online MBA in Artificial Intelligence rankings by MastersInAI.org.

The recognition places Ohio University among the top online MBA programs in AI across the country and second in the state of Ohio, highlighting the University’s leadership at the intersection of business education and emerging technology. The ranking comes at a time when AI programs, especially in business education, are rapidly growing to prepare students for the evolving workforce.

“This ranking reflects Ohio University’s commitment to preparing leaders for the rapidly evolving world of business and technology,” said Kari Lehman, vice provost for OHIO Online. “As AI continues to transform industries, organizations need professionals who can not only understand these technologies but also apply them strategically to drive innovation and create value. By offering this program fully online, we make these opportunities accessible to working professionals everywhere, providing the flexibility to advance their careers while balancing personal and professional commitments.”

MastersInAI.org evaluated qualifying programs nationwide using a standardized, data-driven methodology. Eligibility was limited to AACSB-accredited programs offered primarily online with a defined focus on artificial intelligence. Rankings were based on verified outcomes data, including post-graduation earnings and graduate debt reported through federal education datasets, as well as external recognition across established business and technology rankings.

OHIO’s Online MBA in Artificial Intelligence is designed to equip working professionals with the skills to understand, implement and manage AI technologies within organizations, preparing graduates for leadership roles in data-driven and AI-enabled industries.

“This ranking reflects the quality and commitment of the faculty who teach our AI concentration,” Aaron Wilson, director of the Online MBA Program, said. “They bring rigorous expertise and practical experience to the classroom, pushing students to think critically about how AI creates value and how leaders must deploy it responsibly. That faculty dedication is what enables a truly world-class educational opportunity for our students.”

The program features 7-week courses and the high-impact Leadership Development Conference (LDC), held over one weekend in Athens, Ohio. Full-time students can choose a 12-month (three-semester) or 16-month (four-semester) plan of study, while part-time students can follow a 24-month (six-semester) schedule. The 35-credit curriculum includes an Applied Business Experience capstone, allowing students to engage in simulated business challenges, ensuring a hands-on, experience-driven approach to learning.

The AI concentration requires nine credits focused on AI in business, business analytics with AI, and deploying AI in practical organizational contexts. This three-course sequence is also available as a standalone online graduate certificate, providing flexible options for those seeking to deepen their expertise in AI without completing the full MBA. With multiple concentrations available, students can tailor their MBA to enhance professional value and position themselves for greater impact in their careers.
