Collaboration Tools Advisory Community seeks input on data retention practices

Ohio University’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) invites students, faculty and staff to provide their insights, experiences and feedback related to data and document retention and storage tips during the February Collaboration Tools Advisory Community Meeting.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, from 2-3 p.m. online via Microsoft Teams. You can add the meeting to your Outlook calendar by joining the Collaboration Tools Advisory Community Microsoft Team or simply joining the meeting when it begins.

At the Feb. 8 meeting, OIT is interested in collecting feedback on how it can better assist students, faculty and staff in managing “digital clutter.” Many people have unneeded email messages and digital files that complicate their work lives. OIT invites you to a conversation focused on how to better manage data to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support compliance and security.

The IT Advisory Communities provide a way for students, faculty and staff to offer feedback directly to OIT team members working on the tools and services that they use every day. In advisory communities, participants are invited to share what is working well for them and what is not. It is a safe space to tell OIT about technology needs, what you are looking for and what problems you are trying to solve. You also have the opportunity to have direct conversations with team members who can help resolve the technology issues you may be facing.
