Division of Diversity and Inclusion to host Jollof Festival

The Ohio University community is invited to join the Division of Diversity and Inclusion for a Jollof Festival to celebrate and savor African cultural heritage. This cultural event will showcase the beloved West African dish of Jollof rice.

The festival will take place from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Nov. 9, 2023, in the Baker University Center Ballroom. The event is hosted in conjunction with OHIO's International Education Week, which kicks off on Monday, Nov. 13.

Various unique recipes of the Jollof dish will be provided within a festive atmosphere of music, dance, and appreciation for this African culinary tradition. Participating countries from Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Jamaica, and The Gambia will showcase the diversity of the dish and represent their own traditional recipes. Attendees will have the chance to vote on their favorite.

All Ohio University students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to join in on the celebration. The event is free of charge.
