Applications open for summer Community Health Worker training

Ohio University is accepting applications for the Community Health Worker Program for summer 2023. The free program will begin on May 15 in a hybrid model including both online and in-person classes.

Participants have the opportunity to become vital members of the health and wellness network of employers, instructors, and students living and working in southeastern Ohio and beyond. Community Health Workers are vital to addressing health gaps and disparities. They are the frontline workers improving the quality of care people receive.

This convenient hybrid model of online/in-person coursework is a great opportunity for community members to participate with only three in-person sessions, at the OHIO Chillicothe or OHIO Eastern campus, plus 100 hours of classroom content. The 130 field hours begin once the classroom content is complete. Field hours are supervised, community-based hours required by the Ohio Board of Nursing for licensure.
