Reminder: OHIO hosting third town hall about The Ridges Development Strategy on March 24

Ohio University will host its third and final town hall discussion about The Ridges Development Strategy on Friday, March 24, from 2-4 p.m.

This informational session will share feedback received from the community from last month’s town hall and next steps on implementing the plan.

What: The Ridges Town Hall Session #3 (for all University and Athens Community members)
When: March 24, 2023, from 2-4 p.m.
Where: The Ridges Building 14, Second Floor 

Please note, to access Building 14, members of the community are asked to go through the entrance of Building 19 and then follow the signs to the event.  For a map of The Ridges, please see this website.

About the Ridges Development Strategy
The Ridges Development Strategy, created by Ohio University in partnership with the Buckeye Hills Regional Council and Community Building Partners, is an initiative intended to move The Ridges Framework Plan forward and implement and create a mixed-use space that will benefit the larger community.

On Feb. 21, Dominick Brook, director of real estate at OHIO, Shawna Wolfe, associate vice president for University Planning at OHIO, and Joe Recchie, CEO of the Community Building Partners, presented The Ridges Development Strategy to members of the Athens and OHIO community during the first town hall.

Students, faculty, staff and community members, including members from The Ridges Advisory Committee, attended the town halls to learn more about what the development of The Ridges could mean for both OHIO and the Athens community and to discuss its potential impact on the University and region.

The Ridges Development Strategy is intended to move The Ridges Framework Plan, approved in 2015, to implementation and create mixed-use space that will benefit the larger community and leverage an external investment strategy.

‘Ask the Experts” about The Ridges via livestream on March 30
An Ask the Experts livestream conversation on The Ridges will also be held on Thursday, March 30, from 3-4 p.m. During the conversation, Brook and Wolfe will discuss The Ridges Development Strategy, as well as provide insight to the rehabilitation of the historic Kirkbride buildings and property. The conversation will stream on OHIO's Facebook  and YouTube.
