Bobcat Parents and Families,
Today is an exciting day for the Bobcat community. I am proud to share that Dr. Lori Stewart Gonzalez has been appointed as the 23rd President of Ohio University. This is a monumental time in the University's history, and we are confident she will be an exceptional leader for OHIO and its future.
We are thrilled that our Bobcat family is expanding, and I want to invite you to extend yours/your student's as well. The Bobcat Network is a private online community that facilitates networking connections designed for Bobcats worldwide. It's an excellent place for your student to not only receive career support but also to connect with students and stay in touch after graduation. If you are a fellow Bobcat alum, I encourage you to sign up too! It's a great place to reconnect with old classmates and see what today's Bobcats are accomplishing.

Mentorship with alums and peers
There are many resources on campus to help you network with peers and receive guidance on the next steps of your college journey, but have you ever considered becoming a mentor yourself? During your time at OHIO, you've probably picked up on some of the best tips about college life. We challenge you to reach out and share your advice with fellow Bobcats. Not to mention, mentoring can help you develop a range of skills, including leadership, communication, and personal skills, all of which will aid in your personal and professional growth for post-grad life.
Connect with alumsOne of the best ways to seek mentorship advice is to reach out to alumni. Connect with alumni who work in industries that interest you through Bobcat Network. Alumni may be able to provide not only professional advice, but also help you find internships and job opportunities. |
Connect with peersBuild community with fellow students by joining a student org to share your unique experience at OHIO. Bobcat Connect can help you find over 500 orgs at OHIO, as well as their weekly events! Hear from a success advisor as to why you should join a student org. |

Learn to copeCoping Café is held weekly, Monday through Thursday, and is a space where any student can connect with peers and practice coping strategies to manage issues such as stress, social anxiety, and self-compassion. Try out tomorrow's session on reducing stress through mindfulness. |
Meet a therapy dogDid you know that on the third Thursday of each month, you can find one of our therapy dogs hangin' around campus? Head to Bennet Hall tomorrow to decompress with a little canine companionship. |
