OIT issues top 5 tips to secure your smartphone

Smartphones are one of the most widely used forms of technology and usually contain a large amount of sensitive data, such as bank information, credit card numbers, and health records. So, it should come as no surprise that cybercriminals are targeting smartphones to hack confidential data at alarming rates.

According to RSA Security, an industry-leading network security company, over 60 percent of the world’s cyberattacks originate on mobile devices.  

The Ohio University Office of Information Technology (OIT) has issued the top five essential tips for securing your smartphone. These tips are easy to follow and take little time to implement. All OHIO students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to follow the tips.
