Keeping Bobcats Informed, Oct. 13, 2022

Published: October 12, 2022 Author: Staff reports

Bobcat Parents & Families,

Another successful Homecoming Week in the books! Thank you to all who were able to travel to campus to join in on the celebration. It was so great to see Bobcats of all generations back on the greens this past weekend, and I look forward to when the time comes for our current students to return to Athens each year to celebrate our community.

Though we are experiencing perfect fall weather this week in Athens, cold weather is approaching. This time of year is more important than ever to stay physically active, not just for mental health, but also for academic success. That gets a little trickier as the seasons start to change, but luckily the University has plenty of options to keep moving. Encourage your student to explore the various group fitness classes, competitive sports, and outdoor pursuits trips that Campus Recreation has to offer.

Utilize OHIO's free counseling services

There is a misconception that you have to wait long periods of time to see a counselor or get help. You can help change that narrative by exploring a number of services CPS offers that are easily accessible. Students can access services by dropping in, using Let’s Talk Hours, calling our crisis line, or attending one of the coping clinic sessions that are offered five days a week. Graduate students can also attend The Grad Pad, offered weekly.
