EVPP announces search for Dean of Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education

Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Elizabeth Sayrs has announced a national search for the next dean of the Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education.

The search committee is chaired by Dr. Danielle Dani, chair of Teacher Education in the Patton College of Education, and Dr. Donal Skinner, dean of the Honors Tutorial College. Additional committee members represent an array of University stakeholders including faculty, staff, and students.

The Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education is committed to preparing educators, practitioners, and human services professionals to be leaders in both their communities and industries.

According to Provost Sayrs, “Patton College’s nationally recognized undergraduate and graduate programs blend theory and practice with an emphasis on experiential learning and leadership development. Its next leader will support the professional development of deeply committed faculty and staff, champion equitable outcomes for all students, and understand the needs of the diverse communities we serve.”

In lieu of a search firm, University Human Resources Strategic Search Services will conduct the search. The position posting has been live since May 26, active recruiting measures will continue throughout summer, and the committee will convene in early September to review preliminary applications.

All nominations, applications, and inquiries are welcome. Nominations and outreach suggestions are encouraged and may be submitted online or directly to Cat Russell at russelc4@ohio.edu. For additional details, please refer to the opportunity profile

Dr. Sara Helfrich has been serving as interim dean of the Gladys W. and David H. Patton College of Education since former dean Dr. Renée Middleton announced her intent to return to the faculty in June 2021.
