More than meets the eye

Be wary of the job “opportunities” you receive in emails. Often, a scammer will send you a check, and then later request you to wire a portion of the check back to them. The checks are typically bad to begin with, resulting in you paying the scammer the amount you transfer directly from your account. Remember to report any potential email attacks to security@ohio.edu
