OHIO updates testing requirements for COVID-19 vaccinated individuals

In addition to new and relaxed public health protocols announced last week for OHIO campuses, fully vaccinated individuals are no longer required to participate in asymptomatic COVID-19 testing through the University’s COVID-19 Testing Pathway Program. This change is effective immediately and reflects new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for Institutions of Higher Education.

All students, faculty, and staff still are expected to select either the Testing Pathway or the Vaccination Pathway. When selecting a pathway, individuals can upload a photo of their vaccine card if they would like to be exempt from testing requirements. Those who do not select a pathway will be required to test weekly. Anyone, regardless of pathway choice, is welcome to continue testing for peace of mind.

The University expects all students, faculty, and staff to choose a COVID-19 Testing Pathway as soon as possible. This information will allow the University to look at campus vaccination rates, which will inform future changes in public health guidance.
