Human Resources reminds employees about furlough day process
As the new fiscal year is underway and a new semester is quickly approaching, University Human Resources reminds all faculty and staff that all furlough days–including mandatory furlough days–should be scheduled and recorded in the appropriate time off system (Workforce for hourly employees; Absence Management for salaried employees).
Absence Management users will see how-to instructions after clicking “Create Absence;” Workforce users may refer to the special guide for furlough time entry. Employees who have been allotted additional furlough days in addition to the mandatory dates should follow departmental procedures for requesting supervisor approval for the proposed time off.
Please note that furlough days must be taken by June 30, 2021 and must be taken in whole-day increments only. Additional information about the fiscal year 2021 furlough plan is available online. A list of frequently asked questions, including a list of mandatory furlough dates, is also available.
