Apply
Students are encouraged to apply for the OHIO Honors Program (OHP) at the time of application for admission and scholarships. For priority consideration, students should apply by the November 15 early action deadline. Applicants who apply after the early action deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.
All applicants have the opportunity to check the box on the Common App to request consideration for OHP. Students may also be considered for OHP-designated honors and scholars programs specific to their academic college/major or other criteria.
Eligible selected students will be asked to complete a separate supplemental application after they have applied to the University. For the OHIO Honors Program, eligibility for consideration begins at a 3.7 high school grade point average. Eligibility for the OHP-designated honors and scholars programs varies, as many of the designated programs require interviews. Students invited to apply to the OHIO Honors Program will be asked to provide a response to the following prompt (recommended length 50-200 words):
Students in the OHIO Honors Program represent all majors on campus and take engaging honors courses while applying what they learn outside of the classroom. Students choose from classes and experiences across three pathways: community engagement, research and creative activity, and leadership. Students in OHP can move among the three pathways as their interests evolve and they develop their goals. What pathway is most exciting to you right now, and why?
