Employment Coordination

For units that use our services, the Employment Coordination team handles the decentralized work that is typically asked of planning units. This includes working with hiring managers on process, entering data in the People Admin system, creating interview schedules, handling travel arrangements, posting and arranging payment for specialized advertising, etc. Learn about our process on our Hiring Services page.

Operational Finance

The Operational Finance team collaborates with Planning Unit Leadership to develop dynamic budgets and forecasts to support objectives, and revenue/expense strategies. Budget development and reporting, processing invoice payment, journal entries and internal billings. Ensures transactions are properly recorded, oversees account reconciliations and corrections. Verifies trial balance is accurate and complete. Focuses on continuous improvement of processes across units. 

Operational Purchasing & Travel

Service oriented staff in the OHIO Business Services Center (BSC) apply operational expertise of OHIO systems and processes to facilitate the efficient, effective, and compliant purchasing and substantiation of goods, services, and travel. Faculty and staff in units with a shared services agreement with OHIO BSC experience end-to-end purchasing and travel support enabling them to devote their time to their own areas of expertise.
