The atrium of the Academic and Research Center (ARC)

As a biomedical engineering student at the Russ College, you’ll have access to the resources and facilities of four colleges, the new Academic & Research Center (ARC), and the Edison Biotechnology Institute (EBI). Six biomedical engineering program faculty members have laboratories in the $34.5 million ARC, which opened in January 2010. The 100,000-square-foot ARC connects Stocker Center, which houses the Russ College of Engineering and Technology, including biomechanics and biomedical information processing laboratories, and Irvine Hall, which houses research faculty from the College of Osteopathic Medicine. The ARC's intentional location and design reflect the Russ College’s mission to create for good by fostering collaboration between researchers in engineering and medicine. Using state-of-the-art molecular and cellular biology to develop new diagnostics and therapeutics for human disease, EBI is located in the Konneker Research Center, a 40,000-square-foot facility also housing cellular and biomolecular engineering laboratories.

Life science facilities at Ohio University include the 73,000-square-foot Life Sciences Building and the 30,714-square-foot Biochemistry Research Facility. The 36,000-square-foot Innovation Center, the first university-based business incubator in Ohio, facilitates the transfer of fundamental discovery into marketable products.
