Individuals impacted by sexual misconduct have several reporting options available, depending on the circumstances, timing, and their individual needs. The University recognizes that deciding whether, when, and how to make a report can be difficult and encourages individuals to seek assistance from a confidential resource when considering their options. Confidential resources can provide support, information, and assistance in understanding available reporting and response processes. Individuals should consider preserving evidence to keep options available as they decide what steps, if any, they would like to take.

Making a report does not obligate you to pursue criminal charges. Law enforcement can explain your options, the reporting process, and the extent to which your participation may be requested if an investigation moves forward. To make a report to law enforcement, contact the appropriate law enforcement agency based on where the incident occurred.
When a report is received, a CRC staff member will typically contact the individual reported to have experienced sexual misconduct to offer to meet with them. Talking with CRC does not mean that the individual must request an investigation or take any additional action. This initial outreach provides an opportunity to discuss available resources, supportive measures, reporting options, and if desired, the University’s investigation and resolution processes.
Reports may be made to Civil Rights Compliance through the following methods:
File a report with the Title IX Coordinator by mail, phone or email. A report may be submitted at any time (including during non-business hours) using the contact information below. Reports may also be made in person at the Civil Rights Compliance office on business days when a CRC staff member is available.

Reports may be submitted to Civil Rights Compliance anonymously. If the report contains information about sexual misconduct, CRC staff will review the information and attempt to address the reported concerns to the extent possible. However, the CRC’s ability to investigate, respond to, or resolve concerns may be limited when insufficient information is available or when the identity of the individual involved is unknown. In addition, CRC will be unable to offer supportive measures directly to the individual impacted by sexual misconduct if that individual is not identified.
