Dr. Linda Trautman is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Ohio University, Lancaster campus. She has taught at Ohio University since 2005. Prior to teaching at OU, she taught at Wellesley College in Boston, MA. She completed her Ph.D. at The Ohio State University.
Her areas of expertise within the field of American politics include national and state legislative politics, mass political behavior, race and ethnic politics, gender politics and urban policy and governance. She is currently working on research projects in the areas of legislative representation, redistricting and decision making, and political socialization. Dr. Trautman is also pursuing a study about the impact of felony disenfranchisement laws upon American voter turnout.


She teaches courses in American politics and policy, state politics, racial politics, gender studies, and urban politics. Dr. Trautman also teaches an advanced undergraduate and a graduate course in legislative processes.


In June 2011, Dr. Trautman received the Phi Theta Kappa Professor of the Year Award.
