Overview

Law, Justice and Political Thought is a program of scholarship and education within the Department of Political Science at Ohio University.   Faculty members in the fields of law and political theory study topics as diverse as public ethics, gay and lesbian politics, popular culture, surveillance and privacy, and feminist theory.  At the core of these endeavors is a unifying interest in exploring, explaining, and interrogating the construction of legal and political meaning. Whether the subject is a 19th century court case, a 20th century protest movement, or a 21st century police drama, each scholar’s work turns on exploring the ways in which authoritative meanings are asserted, challenged and understood in the give and take of legal institutions and political culture.

As an academic program, Law, Justice and Political Thought achieves three fundamental goals:

    • Undergraduate Education (more)
    • Graduate Education (more)
    • Research Prominence (more)
