Advising Resources (Finding the answers to those tricky tricky questions. Fast and Friendly tips for Political Science majors and their advisors.)
As odd as it may seem, the best resource for answering most questions is the undergraduate catalog. Each student has one and should be careful to consult the edition for the year that they entered OU—as OU requirement change, students remain under the rules for their “year of entry”. The catalog has an outstanding index and provides comprehensive information about all requirements, terms, and policies. The online version has a nifty search engine. Things like the foreign language requirement, the 90 hour rule, and the 18 hours distribution policy are covered by the College of Arts and Sciences, which also handles things like changes in the major, graduation checks, and sticky advising question that require a highly trained professional.
