A student must apply for graduation through the Registrar's Office and pay the application fee by the date indicated in the University calendar. If the applicant fails to meet the requirements for graduation, he/she must reapply for the quarter in which he/she plans to complete the requirements. A student must be registered for at least one quarter hour of credit in the quarter in which the degree is received. Additional information concerning application for graduation can be found in the Graduate Catalog.
Time Limit for Master's Program
The maximum time allowed between the date when a student first registers for graduate study and the date when the requirements for the Master's degree are completed is six calendar years. Students who do not complete their requirements in the six-year period may be permitted to continue in graduate study only if exceptional circumstances are associated with the delay in progress, and will need to reapply to the graduate program. An extension of time is automatically granted to those students whose programs have been interrupted by military service.
