Physical Therapy Clinic
Ohio University Therapy Associates (OUTA) has been providing physical therapy services and clinical education to the Southeastern Ohio area since 1984. Initially founded as a faculty-based practice, Therapy Associates clinicians now work in a variety of settings through their own clinics, as well as contracts with local facilities.
Statement of Purpose
OUTA is committed to provide the highest quality physical therapy services, in accordance with the Ethics and Standards of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Ohio Physical Therapy Licensure Law. OUTA strives to meet the physical therapy needs of the Athens Community and surrounding counties. Through meeting this commitment, OUTA also provides clinical education opportunities for Pre-Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy students. It is the goal of this organization to provide clinical education settings with the highest standards of practice.
What We Do
OUTA has clinical practice sites throughout Southeastern Ohio treating pediatric clients with neuromuscular problems and developmental delays in the school setting. An outpatient rehabilitation center is staffed at O’Bleness Memorial Hospitals Castrop Center and provides both acute inpatient and outpatient physical therapy for clients with musculoskeletal dysfunction, neuromuscular dysfunction, balance disorders, vestibular problems, and TMJ dysfunction.
OUTA also practices at Ohio University Campus Care, the student health center, treating OHIO students with musculoskeletal and neuromuscular dysfunction. In addition, OUTA provides assessment and treatment for athletic injuries sustained by the university’s intercollegiate student athletes at the Peden Stadium tower facility.
