Cailin Johnson is a lifelong learner and globally minded educator, devoted to student support, hands-on experiences, and worldwide engagement.

Originally from the Cincinnati/Dayton area of Ohio, Cailin earned her undergraduate degree at the College of Charleston, majoring in International Studies, with dual concentrations in European Studies and Asian Studies. While attending CofC, Cailin was able to study abroad four times: twice to the United Kingdom, as well as to Croatia and Thailand. She also completed a team oriented, year-long astronomy project with CofC professors and former NASA staff. After graduating, she taught English in Vietnam for one year, then returned to her hometown and assisted middle school students with learning differences. Realizing a passion for education, Cailin earned her master’s degree from Wright State University, completing an M.Ed. in Student Affairs, with a concentration in International Education. While a graduate student, she interned at Wright State’s study abroad and student advocacy offices.

Since moving to Athens, Cailin has enjoyed hiking, taking time to write, getting to know the local community and terrain, and trying new foods at the behest of her coworkers. She also enjoys supporting the FC Cincinnati soccer team, visiting museums and vintage clothing stores, and traveling around the country to attend concerts.
