Why I want to be an OHIO First Scholars Advocate:
I was the first person in my family to attend university and the biggest challenge was navigating the culture and systems of university alone. Establishing those networks, reaching out, and being proactive in my academic success was difficult coming from a culture that sees asking for help as a weakness. My goal in being an OHIO First Scholars Advocate is to help you avoid those same pitfalls and to be a resource on navigating college life. Whether its asking about classes, where to find resources, or discovering new opportunities to engage with the larger Athens community I'm happy to help.
