Center for Community Engagement
The Center for Community Engagement connects students, faculty, staff and communities (from local to global) to create and maintain mutually beneficial academic, research, and service partnerships that foster resilient communities and life-long engaged citizens.
On Saturday, December 2nd at 10:00 a.m., people can join Good Works and participate in one of two walking paths with the same goal in mind: understanding and learning about the causes and experiences of homelessness. Both of The Day In The Life paths will begin at the picnic shelter at 450 West State Street and then go their separate ways.
The Center for Campus and Community Engagement has officially changed its name to the Center for Community Engagement (CCE). While this development may appear small, the achievements the center has made in the last few years in connecting OHIO campuses and communities are not so minor.
At the second annual Community Engagement Symposium on Sept. 29, Ohio University announced the first ever Outstanding Community Partner Awards. These community partners were recognized for their meritorious collaboration with an Ohio University campus.
Across Athens and all five regional campuses, candidates were nominated by either an Ohio University student, faculty, or staff member for their contributions to partnerships supporting community-engaged research, curricular or co-curricular engagement, special projects or other initiatives that promote mutual benefits for the Ohio University and the community.
The CCE's newsletters are one of the ways we aim to keep people informed on the latest news and upcoming events in and around Ohio University campuses and southeast Ohio.
