Taylor Burris

Taylor joined the New Student and Family Programs team in January 2026. She most recently served as the Executive Communications Specialist and Board Relations Coordinator in the Office of the President, a Learning Community Instructor, and Assistant Director for Event Services. Before transitioning to higher education, Taylor served as a public-school teacher for six years, five of those at Athens City Schools.
Taylor is a proud two-time OHIO alumna, earning two Education degrees from the Patton College of Education. During undergrad, Taylor discovered her love for working with college students as a Resident Assistant, Learning Community Leader, and President of the student-run a cappella group, The Tempo Tantrums.
Taylor is very excited to be back in the Division of Student Affairs, nurturing her lifelong passion for student engagement and success.
Taylor enjoys spending time with her husband and baby boy, snuggling with her two cats, and supporting local businesses in the Athens community
