Campus Recreation to host third annual Homecoming 5K Fun Run and Walk

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members are welcome to kick start their Homecoming festivities by participating in the third OHIO Homecoming 5K Fun Run and Walk, organized by Ohio University’s Campus Recreation, at 8 a.m. on Oct. 12 at the Ohio University Golf Course.

Open to all experience levels, the run starts at the golf course and takes participants down the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway.  The entire course will be paved, so it will be accessible for participants with wheelchairs or strollers.

Early registration is open now through Sept. 29 and costs $15 for OHIO students, $20 for OHIO faculty, staff, alumni, and $25 for Athens community members. Registration costs increase by $5 after Sept. 30, and registration closes Oct. 12. Participants who register early will receive a free Homecoming 5K T-shirt.

Proceeds from the event go toward the Rita LaValley Student Support fund, which provides opportunities for student scholarships and professional development funding.
