Fourth finalist for director of OHIO Athletics position announced

Search committee Co-Chairs Nico Karagosian, vice president of University Advancement and CEO of the Ohio University Foundation, and Jenny Hall-Jones, senior associate vice president for Student Affairs and dean of students, are pleased to announce that four finalists have been invited to interview on campus as candidates for Ohio University’s next athletics director, a position that became open after Jim Schaus announced his resignation in June.

“This is an exciting time to be at OHIO as we work to integrate the Bobcat experience across our campuses,” said Karagosian. “Athletics is the front porch of any university and the new athletics director will play an integral role as we work to build our community.”

Hall-Jones said she is excited to introduce the finalists to our community. She said, “We have some high-quality candidates visiting the Athens campus this week, and I am excited for them to experience what it means to be a Bobcat.”

Julie Cromer, who currently serves as senior deputy athletics director and SWA at the University of Arkansas, will be the fourth and final candidate to visit the Athens campus the week of Aug. 5 to discuss the director of OHIO Athletics position.

Deputy Athletic Director Amy Dean has been serving as interim director of OHIO Athletics since July 1. More information will be provided about OHIO’s search for its next director of athletics as the search advances.
