Share your OHIO story at the inaugural Bobcat Tales Event and University Archives Display this Homecoming Weekend

Homecoming is a time for reconnecting, reminiscing and celebrating the people and experiences that make Ohio University unique.

This year, alumni, students, faculty, staff, retirees and friends of the University are invited to add their voices to that celebration at the inaugural Bobcat Tales event, taking place Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the fourth floor of Alden Library.

Hosted by the Ohio University Libraries, Bobcat Tales offers members of the Bobcat family an opportunity to share the stories that have defined their connections to OHIO, from unforgettable professors and lifelong friendships to favorite traditions, campus landmarks and game-day memories.

On Saturday of Homecoming Weekend, participants are invited to record a brief personal story about what Ohio University means to them. Working with Brian Koscho (MFA ‘22) of Invisible Ground, the event will capture memories from across generations of Bobcats.

These recordings will be preserved and shared through the StoryCorps Archive, creating a lasting collection of voices that reflect the spirit, history and community of Ohio University.

Be sure to see the OHIO Archives Homecoming Display

Bobcat Tales is taking place alongside the annual Ohio University Archives Homecoming Display, an extensive exhibition of historical materials drawn from the University Archives. The multi-table display includes yearbooks, handbooks, scrapbooks, photographs, posters, maps, letters, student publications, sports programs and other athletic memorabilia that bring generations of OHIO history to life.

All members of the OHIO community are invited to enjoy a unique Homecoming experience where visitors can browse decades of Ohio University history, rediscover familiar faces and places, and then record the memories those materials inspire. Whether it's a favorite residence hall, a memorable class, a championship season, or a life-changing friendship, every story contributes to the shared history of the Bobcat community.

Visitors are encouraged to spend time with the Archives display, reconnect with their own memories, and then share a story that reflects what OHIO has meant in their lives.

Bobcat Tales is one component of Ohio University's Oral History Project, launched in fall 2023 to preserve and share the stories of those who have shaped the University and its community.

The Homecoming Display will be on view throughout Homecoming Week on Alden Library's fourth floor, opening Monday, Oct. 5, and remaining available to visitors through Saturday, Oct. 10.
