OHIO, UAOU continue progress in faculty collective bargaining negotiations

Ohio University and the United Academics of Ohio University (UAOU) continue to make progress toward OHIO’s first faculty collective bargaining agreement, with the parties reaching two additional tentative agreements in September while continuing to engage in discussions on multiple economic proposals.

Negotiations will continue in October, with three bargaining sessions currently scheduled throughout the month. The University looks forward to building on the progress made thus far as both parties continue working toward a first collective bargaining agreement.

As part of its ongoing effort to provide the University community with information and context surrounding the collective bargaining process, OHIO has added a new Faculty Collective Bargaining: Separating Myth from Fact section to its Labor Relations website. This online resource is intended to help address common collective bargaining claims and questions; it also provides further context regarding the University’s actions, responsibilities and overall approach to the ongoing bargaining process.

Additional information about faculty collective bargaining, including the latest bargaining updates and frequently asked questions, is available on the University’s Labor Relations website.
