University Community

OHIO community invited to view new Sexual Misconduct Resources and Reporting website

All members of the Ohio University community are encouraged to view the recently added Sexual Misconduct Resources and Reporting website.

The website, which is part of OHIO’s Office of Civil Rights Compliance, was created to make it easier for students, faculty and staff to receive assistance, make reports and find resources and information.

Ohio University is committed to providing a workplace, educational environment, programs, and activities that are free from sexual harassment and other forms of sexual misconduct, and to fostering a safe and respectful environment for all members of the OHIO community.

The website provides support resources, reporting options, information for mandatory reporters, and other tools and resources related to sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.

In addition, the website provides information on the mandatory reporting responsibilities for Ohio University employees.

All OHIO employees who are not considered “confidential” (such as licensed counselors, social workers and physicians, when acting under the scope of their licensure) are mandatory reporters and are expected to immediately report if they observe or learn of conduct or concerns related to:

  • Sexual harassment or other sexual misconduct (University Policy 03.004);
  • Discrimination, harassment or intimidation based on a person’s protected class (University Policy 40.001); or
  • Retaliation because someone has made a report, filed a complaint, or participated in an investigation related to University Policies 03.004 or 40.001.

You can find the Guide for Mandatory Reporters here.

The website also provides information on a wide range of topics including:

  • Reporting options
  • If you experience sexual misconduct
  • Sexual misconduct policy
  • Support resources
  • Supportive measures
  • The grievance process
  • Amnesty policy
  • Sexual violence risk reduction
  • Supporting friends

You can find information on all of these topics and more on the Sexual Misconduct Resources and Reporting website. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to review the website.
