Nominate an outstanding Ohio University administrator

The Ohio University Administrative Senate is accepting nominations for two awards that recognize exceptional OHIO administrators.

Nominations are now open for these awards:

• Rising Administrator Award (one year to less than 5 years of service as an administrator at Ohio University)
• Outstanding Administrator Award (5+ years of service as an administrator at Ohio University)

The Outstanding Administrator Award was first awarded in the 1974-75 academic year and has recognized over 150 OHIO administrators. 

The new Rising Administrator Award (debuting in 2026–27) celebrates newer OHIO staff members who are already making a meaningful difference early in their careers. 

Any member of the Ohio University community, including students, may submit a nomination.

All nominees and recipients will be recognized at the Spring Administrator Awards Ceremony. Award recipients also receive a cash award and a framed commendation, and are honored on a plaque in Chubb Hall.

Nominations are reviewed based on the quality and substance of the information provided, not the number of nominations received.  

Eligibility: Any Ohio University administrator with employment of nine, ten, eleven, or twelve months, who spends 50 percent or more of their time in administrative responsibilities. The president, vice presidents, executive vice president and provost, vice provosts, associate provosts, secretary and treasurer of the Board of Trustees, deans, and individuals eligible for Faculty Senate membership are not eligible.
