Sugar Bush Foundation to host Community and University Idea Sharing Event ahead of 2027–2028 funding cycle

The Sugar Bush Foundation will host a Community and University Idea Sharing event on Friday, Aug. 28, ahead of opening its 2027–2028 funding cycle.

Share your ideas for ways the university and community can collaborate

The Sugar Bush Foundation invites representatives from area non-profits and from Ohio University to come share ideas for working together, meet potential partners, connect with the Sugar Bush board and learn more about the Foundation.

Participants will discuss their ideas in small groups with others of similar interests. Even if your interests don't exactly align with the Foundation's focus, it’s a great chance to network—you might find a new project partner. The event runs 1–3 pm at the Ohio University Inn.

The Sugar Bush Foundation, a supporting organization of the Ohio University Foundation, engages OHIO students in the region by funding collaborations between OHIO and area non-profits. The Foundation supports projects that make a lasting impact on lives, local food systems, socio-economic development and/or the environment of Appalachian Ohio. Since its founding, it has awarded more than $5.1 million to projects that impact Appalachian Ohio.

Letter of Inquiry details

Letters of Inquiry for the 2027–2028 funding year are due on Nov. 30, 2026. Tto learn more about project requirements and access the Letter of Inquiry form and its instructions, visit the Sugar Bush Foundation Website.

Applicants will be notified by Dec. 12 whether they've been selected to submit a full proposal. Full proposals are due Feb. 28, 2027, and funding will be awarded by mid-July of 2027.
