OHIO’s emergency communications systems to undergo testing Friday, Aug. 14

Ohio University's Athens, Chillicothe, Dublin, Eastern, Lancaster, Southern and Zanesville campuses will collectively test several emergency communication systems at approximately noon on Friday, August 14, 2026.

The University periodically tests its emergency communications systems to ensure its notification systems are working properly and to help familiarize its campus communities with how OHIO will communicate in an emergency. On August 14, the University will test its new text, email and voice (RHE only) notifications integration with Rave Mobile Safety, a leading provider of emergency communication solutions used by colleges and universities nationwide.

All active OHIO students, faculty and staff are automatically enrolled to receive OHIO Alert notifications based on their OHIO email address and the mobile phone number they provided to the University. To ensure you continue receiving these important alerts, we encourage you to regularly review and update your contact information
