Ohio University Press receives gift to support global scholarship in African Studies

Ohio University Press is pleased to announce a generous gift from Steve Howard, OHIO director emeritus of African Studies, to support the publication of scholarship in African studies. The funds will help offset editorial and marketing costs, ensuring continued access to high-quality academic research while strengthening Ohio University’s longstanding reputation for international scholarship.

Along with serving as the director for the African Studies program, Howard was a longtime faculty member, editorial board member, and director of the Center for International Studies, playing a significant role in advancing international education and scholarship at Ohio University. His gift reflects a commitment to ensuring that important academic research continues to reach scholars, students and readers around the globe.
