Ohio University announces details for FY 2027 salary increases
Recognizing the commitment and contributions of OHIO’s faculty and staff, University leadership has approved Fiscal Year 2027 salary increase guidelines for eligible employees.
FY 2027 salary increase details
Eligibility requirements:
- Employees must be hired before Jan. 1, 2026.
- Administrative employees who are regular status or term status are eligible for raise pool. Administrative employees who are temporary status are not eligible for the raise pool. Administrative employees who have received a salary increase due to a promotion to a higher paygrade (either through a search or an incumbent review), in-range adjustment, or compression adjustment on or after Jan. 1, 2026, are eligible for the raise pool.
- Post-doc and grant funded employees must be hired before Jan. 1, 2026, to receive an increase. If increases are prohibited by the grant, the unit is required to find appropriate funding sources, such as research incentive (RI) funds.
- All faculty included in the bargaining unit are not eligible for the above due to the ongoing status quo period* that remains in effect while the University and the United Academics of Ohio University continue negotiations toward the development of the first faculty union contract at the institution since its founding. Faculty who are not included in the bargaining unit, including those who will serve as department chairs or school directors in fiscal year 2027, will be eligible for the above. For information about Faculty promotions, please see below.
- AFSCME 3200, AFSCME 1699, FOP Police Officers, & FOP Police Lieutenants should refer to the language within their respective collective bargaining agreements related to wages.
The basis for the raise pool distribution will be as follows
Colleges and Planning Units have been instructed to allocate a raise pool not to exceed 2.0% for all eligible employees. An increase of 1.5% will be across the board for eligible employees. Colleges and Planning Units may use the remaining 0.5% for a Dean/Vice President/Vice Provosts’ discretionary pool to address merit. The total salary increase for each eligible employee may not be below 1.5% or exceed 3.0%. Specific unit guidelines for distribution of merit increases should be communicated within each planning unit.
Merit increases are to be based on the quality of an individual's performance as evidenced by their most recent performance evaluations that cover January through December 2025.
Other items
- OHIO will not increase the cost of health plan premiums for employees in fiscal year 2027 (AFSCME 1699 members should refer to their bargaining agreement).
