The Ridges Development Strategy continues to move forward
The University is continuing to work with the New Community Authority, 317 Board and other key stakeholders to finalize an official land transfer that will ultimately allow a total of 21 currently unused historic buildings and approximately 27 acres of undeveloped land at The Ridges to be conveyed to the Ridges Community Development, LLC.
These ongoing collaborative efforts have continued to focus on further progressing various mixed-use and community-identified needs, including age-friendly (senior) and affordable housing; a final condominiums survey, a site requirement necessary for moving the overall development strategy forward, was completed in late January.
The University has shared a final version of the condominiums survey with its partners in Athens County for cursory review and approval. Thereafter, pending the appropriate approvals from other key stakeholders in this process, including final review and approval considerations from the Ohio Governor’s Office, the University hopes to be able to further proceed with preparations for an official property closing with the Ridges Community Development, LLC.
