OUPD to host 10th annual Department Recognition Ceremony on Feb. 24
The Ohio University Police Department (OUPD) will host its 10th annual Department Recognition Ceremony at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, in the Walter Hall Rotunda on OHIO’s Athens Campus.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.; light refreshments will be provided.
OUPD traces its roots back to 1824 when the Ohio University Board of Trustees made its first appointment for the security of OHIO’s campus. Today, the department is comprised of four main divisions: patrol, investigations, communications, and administration, which operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
OUPD’s Department Recognition Ceremony is open to the public, and all are welcome to join the University community in celebrating OUPD's dedicated staff, storied history and longstanding commitment to professionalism, integrity and humanity.
